I knew I was in love
it bubbled from inside
Made a deity of my love
And offered up my pride.
So many little cruelties
Harsh words in silence heard
My love was a fit deity
So sacrifices willingly offered.
One little word had power
As an insignificant smile
To lighten my heart's load
Make the love all the worthwhile
But you did not respect it
For you got it for free, this love
Cast it away- purpose served
Like a well worn glove.
