Just wondering

... if people who oppose abortion rights and gay marriage( considering how very often they are usually the same people-very often DOES NOT equal always) do so, not because of very religious reasons, but simply because they have a strong disease of not minding their own business. Because religion is not a selective "love they neighbor" and pro-life would not condone demonizing some while deciding to get rid of others. It comes from a desire to control and dictate others.

This came from:
Dr George Tiller, a late term abortion provider was shot to death in a church this weekend.
And gay marriage rights has become very contentious in public discourse.

This is a very valid point. I have always thought that people love to control and dominate others. Intolerance has become a way of life

These religious terrorists are controlled by religion and they in turn want to control others in the name of religion...Thats the way it (unfortunately) works...As Ritu said, intolerance has become a way of life...Look at what's happening in Australia...

I read this and it is so sad how people think that they can take the law into their own hands..

You know what the saddest thing is - this doctor actually speciallised in later term abortions - which people resort to only if they had absolutely no option.. I read some of their sotries of how much this doctor had helped them.. And to think tha he was shot dead by people who think that they 'know best'! Such a tragedy..

You are so right - 'It comes from a desire to control and dictate others. '

The hand of the righteous!

The best story I've read that truly exposes the danger (and hypocrisy of) the religiously motivated was this piece on the Onion.

You hit the nail on the head!!!
Its amazing just how many people think they have the right to intefere and pass judgement on those who think differently...they forget that every man and woman is the master of her mind, body and destiny and no one else has the right to intefere how they chart their course in life!!!
